Writing
Hi,
Today Your task is to write an essay!!!!
So, at first get more information about writing it:
Do you want to write an good essay?
Here are suggestions for you. You should look at them instead of worrying.
1)
Choose a topic.
The subject is the
essence of an essay. So the topic you choose represents your essay. İf you have
already had a topic, you can start to think on it. Your topic may be so
general, in this case you should subdivide it. For example; if your topic were
“Spain”, you could separate this topic into headings such as “the history of
Spain”, “places to visit in Spain” or “the life in Spain”.
2) Read other people’s
essays.
After the choice of the
topic, you can start to search the details of your topic. For it, you can read
the other people’s essays. Reading other people’s essays can help you develop
and build on your own essay-writing style. You can see different introduced
ideas and how the writer has supported their points with evidence. When you
read essays, be objective and consider the positive and negative sides of each
ideas.
3) Prepare an outline or
schema of your ideas.
In order to write an
effective essay, you must put in order your thoughts. The easiest way to do
this is to put what’s in your head in paper. You prefer to write the title of
your topic in the middle of your page and add positive ideas in the right side,
negative ideas in the left side. So you can see easily the connections between
the topic and your thoughts.
4) Write your thesis
statement.
Thesis statement
expresses the main ideas of your essay. So you should be careful when you
choose the thesis statement sentences. Your sentences should draw the readers’
attention. For you find a strong thesis statement, you can look your schema.
What are the main ideas? Thesis statement is about two things: your topic and
the point of your essay.
5) Write the
introduction.
The introduction in an
essay is like a road map that shows the readers the directions of the main
ideas. And it provides the readers the background information about your topic.
So it should be interesting for the readers. It contains the thesis statement
and and 2 or more main ideas which will be explained in the body of your essay.
6) Write the body.
The body part contains
sentences that support the introduction. İt lies between the introduction and
conclusion. And it have topic sentence, supporting details and concluding
sentence.
To write a body part, you
can begin by writing one of your main ideas as the introductory sentence. And
then you should write each of your supporting ideas. You can use transitions in
this part, such as first…second…third, finally, moreover, previously, for
instance, in addition, thus, consequently, as a result....
7) Write the conclusion.
Your essay is almost
done. You have written about main ideas and have supported your sentences which
is mixed with your research and your ideas. It’s the turn to write the finish
of your essay. The part of conclusion partakes of summarizing your topic.
Now readers have a
result by reading a conclusion statement that sums up all the main points
nicely.
😎 Revise your
essay and don’t be afraid to get help.
Yes, it is finished but you should review it for your mistake and should
make sure that your paragraphs have the correct order. You should read the text
from the beginning and correct your sentences that include grammar mistakes and
incoherency.
Don’t be afraid to
get help people you know. Your a mistake teach you a new thing. If you have difficulty
in correcting your mistakes, you can receive help from your teacher, friends or
another person you want.
Choose one of the topics below and write down it into your copybooks.
- London’s places of interest, what can a tuorist see and do in the capital of Great Britain.

READING COMPREHENSION
What Is Effective Comprehension Instruction?
- think about what they already know before they start reading and during reading;
- be aware of whether they understand what they are reading;
- employ strategies to identify difficult words, concepts, and ideas;
- ask themselves: "Does this make sense?"; and.
- be aware of how a particular text is organized.
How can we interpret the meaning of our dreams?
Read about dreams and what we can learn from them.
Graded reading: Dreams (level 2) – text
Do you know why we dream? How can we interpret the meaning of our dreams? Read about dreams and what we can learn from them.
Can you remember a time when you woke up from a fantastic, scary or strange dream? Maybe you were scared and had to turn on the light or the dream was so good you wanted to stay in it longer. Probably, in either case, you forgot most of the details before breakfast. But are dreams just dreams or are they trying to tell you something?
Do dreams predict the future?
For hundreds of years, people have thought gods or spirits communicate with us through our dreams. Even today, many people can remember a time when they saw an event, place or person in their dream and then, later, the dream came true in real life. But it’s probably just a coincidence when a dream event is followed by a real-life event that’s similar to it, especially if the subject of the dream is something that happens often in everyday life. Most people have four to six dreams every night after the age of ten. That’s as many as 2,000 dreams per year. So, by the time they reach 80 years old the average person might have had 140,000 dreams. Even if we forget 95–99 per cent of our dreams, we will still remember a few thousand of them. And, of course, we probably choose to forget the thousands of times we dream about events but they don’t happen.
Are dreams just recycled thoughts?
Around the 18th and 19th centuries two main ideas about dreams became popular. One was the idea that the things we see in our dreams are things our conscious mind is hiding from us. However, the opposite idea said that while we’re asleep, the brain organises memories and events from the day. Dreams are just a random collection of these thoughts, but we try to make a story from them when we wake up.
Are dreams messages from our brains?
But perhaps the truth about dreams lies somewhere in the middle of these two ideas. Dreams might be made from the thoughts we have during the day, but they appear in dreams with symbolic meaning. When we’re awake, we mostly think in words, like we’re having conversations with ourselves. But when we’re asleep, the part of our brain that controls language becomes less active, while the part that controls feelings becomes more active. So, maybe we experience our thoughts as feelings and symbols instead of words with clear meanings.
So, if you can understand the symbols in your dreams, you have a window into your subconscious. Common dreams like being able to fly or falling, or having no clothes on in a public place, probably mean something similar in most people. But to understand exactly what they mean to you, you have to connect them to the events and feelings of your daily life.
How can you understand the messages?
One way to help you do this is to keep a dream diary. As soon as you wake up, write down whatever you can remember about your dreams. Use pen and paper, not your phone or computer as the light might wake you up and you’ll forget faster. Be quick, as the memories will be gone in seconds. Some days you’ll write with your eyes not even fully open and the result will be almost impossible to read, or it might not even make sense. Now you can connect your dreams to the events and feelings in your daily life. Think about the people and place where the dream happened as they might have a meaning too. How were you feeling in the dream? That dream about having no clothes on in public might mean you are anxious about something you have to do, or you’re not feeling confident in a certain situation or with certain people. Can you control your dreams? Some people think writing your dreams down can open your mind to lucid dreaming. In lucid dreams, you know you’re dreaming and you can change your own plot. Instead of just working out the meaning of your dreams, you’ll be creating them. That could be a lot of fun, but you might want to continue having some dreams that allow your subconscious to send you messages!

Tuesday, the 17 th of March
Today we are going to speak about English speaking countries in Europe and about Official and Spoken Languages of European Countries.
Task 1. Watch the video and get some general information about English speaking countries in Europe
Europe is a continent with many countries (about 50) and almost each country has its own language, known as the national language. Some countries have even more than one national language.
At the fringes of the countries languages may overlap and used interchangeable, this means, people in the border regions of countries might understand and speak the language of the neighboring country.
Is there a common language in Europe so that all Europeans can talk to each other?
Eh, no, not really. There are Europeans who have learned Spanish, French, German, English, or even Latin as a second language, so they might be able to use it in the country where those languages are spoken.
On the other hand, English is on the rise used not only in Europe as a lingua franca, escpecially by the younger generation of Europeans, even so France tried hard to protect its citizens from the unwanted influence of English on French (language) culture.
However, the EU, the European union of 28 member states has 24 official languages, but in practice only two are used most often: English and French.

English as a world language
People speak English not only I and n Great Britain and the United States. Britain has more than 56 million inhabitants who speak English as their native language. Altogether about 350 million people in the world speak English as their first language. It is an official language in more than 60 countries and it means that another 160 million people use English as their second language.
Over two thirds of the world’s scientists write in English. Three quarters of the world’s mail is in English. 85% of the information in computers in the world is in English too.
English is also the language of pop music, advertising and teaching. Singapore is one of the largest ports in the world. It is an independent republic. Children in schools used to have their lessons in Chinese because the majority of the population is Chinese. Now teachers use English as the main language.
India has 15 main languages and hundreds of dialects, but English is the language of Parliament, legal and medical professions. There are over a thousand newspapers in India in the English language.
You must learn English if you work for an international airline. The control tower communicates with pilots all over the world in English.
Almost all multi-national companies do business in English. When a German company director meets a customer from Greece to discuss a new project and to sign a contract, they talk to each other in English.
Everywhere industrial companies label their products in English. It is not because Britain and the United States are the biggest export markets in the world, but because English has become an international language.

Australia, or the Commonwealth of Australia, as it is officially called, is situated on the island continent. It also occupies the Island of Tasmania and some minor islands round the coast of the continent.
It is a highly developed industrial-agrarian country. Its area is about 8 million km2. It is the only state in the world that occupies the territory of a whole continent.
The capital of Australia is Canberra, which became the capital only in 1927.
From 1787 to 1867 Australia was a place where criminals were sent from Britain. That is why the official language of Australia is English.
Almost one half of Australian territory is occupied by deserts and semideserts. For quite a long period of time it was thought to be useless for economic development. But it is rich in coal, iron ore, bauxites, uranium, lead and many other mineral resources.
For almost a century the production and export of sheep wool was the basis of the economy of the country. Now the most important industries are oil, chemical, ore mining, radioelectronics, and food industry. The country exports agricultural products and raw materials.
As for the nature, the commonest trees of Australia are the eucalyptus and the Australian acacia or mimosa, the national emblem of the country. Such unusual animals as a kangaroo or a koala-bear originate from Australia.
Australia is one of the most unusual and exotic countries of the world. A significant feature of modern Australian society is the representation of a lot of cultures drawn from many lands by its people.
